A simpler site collects less.

Dark Kentucky is a static website. It has no accounts, comments, advertising scripts, analytics trackers, or contact-form database.

Server logs

The web server may create ordinary technical logs, which can include an IP address, browser information, requested URL, and time of access. Retention and access depend on the server configuration used to host the site.

Embedded video

Article videos are not loaded until you choose to play them. Playing a video connects your browser to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, where Google’s policies apply.

External links

Links to archives, news organizations, social networks, and other sources take you to sites with their own privacy practices. Dark Kentucky does not control those sites.

Cookies

Dark Kentucky itself does not set cookies. A third-party service may do so after you follow an external link or activate embedded content.

Changes

This notice should be updated if the site later adds analytics, forms, accounts, comments, advertising, or another service that collects visitor data.
